Hawaii Superferry

Community and Environment

Respect. Responsibility. Community.

Hawaii Superferry is a bold new addition to life in Hawaii. As with all new things, people respond with a combination of excitement and concern. This is as it should be: Hawaii is one of the most beautiful and delicate environments in the world.

No large project should be undertaken without a careful look at how our lives will be affected. From the very beginning, Hawaii Superferry has worked with community leaders, environmental groups, and a range of independent advisors to ensure that our ferry procedure operates to the shared benefit of the entire community.

We have established advisory boards on all of the islands we will serve -- Maui, Kauai, and the Island of Hawaii -- to discuss issues ranging from environmental to cultural to business concerns. Our advisors include such disparate groups as the Whale Sanctuary Advisory Council, the Hawaii Farm Bureau Federation, the Cattlemen’s Association, the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau, various invasive species committees, recreational harbor users, and marine organizations.
