Hawaii Superferry Introduces Sales Team

HONOLULU - Hawaii Superferry introduces its sales team of Group Sales Manager Darren Hara, Commercial Sales Manager Kelly Kauahi, Passenger Sales Manager Ward Yamashiro, and Inside Sales Representative Sean Horie.

Hara works with organized groups of 10 or more for inter-island travel on Hawaii Superferry. Hara, a 15-year veteran of the travel and sales industry in Hawaii, worked for Roberts Hawaii as a sales manager before joining Hawaii Superferry.  Hara earned a B.A. in communications from the University of Hawaii.
 
Kauahi handles the company's commercial accounts for businesses that transport goods and services via Hawaii Superferry. Kauahi brings 15 years of sales and shipping experience to Hawaii Superferry's commercial customers. Most recently, Kauahi served as a regional sales manager at DHX ­ Dependable Hawaiian Express, a leading ocean and airfreight company. Prior to working at DHX, Kauahi was the Hawaii sales consultant for Marcolin, a worldwide eyewear manufacturer.

Yamashiro is responsible for contracting and servicing of all leisure travel and government accounts. This includes overseeing the company's wholesalers (U.S. inbound, Hawaii, and Japanese), travel agencies, corporate, government, and military accounts.  Prior to joining Hawaii Superferry, Yamashiro worked at Delta Airlines for the last 30 years.  Yamashiro earned a bachelor's degree in public administration from the University of Southern California.

Horie is responsible for servicing customers who phone or email the business development department.  This includes commercial, group, and general sales assistance to all clients.  Horie was a student intern at Hawaii Superferry while attending the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii and upon graduation was hired full time and advanced to his current position.
